The Queen of Pop is now unequaled chart royalty. Madonna makes momentous Billboard chart history, as she now has the most No. 1s ever, 45, by an act on a singular Billboard chart. She earns her 45th No. 1 on Dance Club Songs, where "Ghosttown" lifts 3-1.
This is how Billboard announces the unprecedented event of Madonna breaking all chart records in the history of music and American charts. "Ghosttown" jumps from #3 to #1 on the Dance Club Songs chart making Madonna an unrivaled leader in terms of having most number one songs on any singular Billboard chart.
Until recently the crown belonged to George Strait, who managed to place 44 singles on top of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart (his latest number one was "River Of Love" in 2009). Earlier this year Madonna placed "Living For Love" on top of Dance Club Songs chart and has shared the throne and the crown since then with George as an artist with most number one singles on any Billboard chart. But now with "Ghosttown" making history the crown belongs only to her! There is only one Queen! Congratulations Madonna!
Needless to say, Madonna is an unquestionable queen of the dancefloor with 45 chart toppers now. And here there is no rival for her. Beyoncé and Rihanna are second in this category (22 singles each) and it will take them years to come even near to Madonna's staggering 45! Of course, Madonna's tally is expected to grow even more very soon with "Bitch I'm Madonna" announced as the third "Rebel Heart" single – another almost certain dance killer! Madonna told Billboard:
Thanks to all my fans on and off the dancefloor.
